It's great to have you back on the listserv. I love your post below and I do
something similar to what you describe but I have to admit I'm not consistent
and I let things go when I shouldn't. This sends a mixed message to the
students and makes management of learning very difficul
This is an interesting question; I think it may have been discussed on the list
awhile back. I have not read Atwell's book, but I remembered reading an

I don't know much about the Rewards program, but I do know it was
created by Anita Archer. She has both a reading and writing program.
The reading program helps students quickly recognize the chunks in
words and then use that knowledge to read. I have only seen the
