Birded this morning in the Osceola bottomlands of Chisago County and found a
Prothonotary Warbler about 1/3 mile north of the Welcome to MN parking area
just before the Hwy243 bridge over the St. Croix River(across from Osceola
Landing). I found it on three different occasions (perhaps a 2nd

several warblers) when I heard the distinct ascending buzzy call of a Prairie

California Gull at the Headquarters Pool of Agassiz National Wildlife
Refuge.

At 7am this morning I was viewing the backside of Herding Island at Park Point
and viewed a adult Arctic Tern flying amongst a flock of about 60+ Common Terns.
At Lafayette Square on Park Point viewing the lake I saw one Red-throated Loon
flying by me and then landing on the lake out in front

I currently (8:00 p.m.) have a Chukar in my yard, eating sunflower seeds under
my bird feeder. I was able to get some decent photos--he didn't seem spooked
by my presence. This can't possibly be a wild bird! Although, I do live out
in the country in the woods south of Prescott. If

We observed a Whimbrel yesterday on Co.Rd.15 west of Aitkin, it was still there
today, directions, at the Aitkin stop light go north on Main Street to 4th St.
NW, then west on CR 15 for 3 1/2 miles where you will find a flooded field to
the south.
