longer there - could have walked into taller grass, flown to another spot in
the area or even flown completely away. It was casually preening when I watched
it, so maybe more likely to be nearby?

while I was sitting at
the stoplight. It was in the trees in front of the evergreen tree line that
borders the Lutheran church. This was about 1:00 pm as I was on my way to a
funeral, so I couldn't post sooner. Carver county first!

long. A new crack formed today near shore, probably from the wind blowing

at the west edge
of the park. From the last house to the beach would be the most productive
area. There are also Bonaparte gulls flying along the shore in addition to the
species listed by Mr. Cyrus.

saw a
blackbird with insects in its beak go into the cattails and 10 or more terns
flying around with some appearing to land in the marsh. Legacy Village is
behind the Kwik Trip in Waconia. Reply off line for more details

doesn't do the bird justice. So,
still looking for the hoary but enjoyed the unusual common! Also interesting
was that this bird did not seem to suffer from its unusual color in terms of
pecking order... It chased several of its peers from the area where it was
foraging under a feeder.
