Yes, just 64K videoram wont be any good for VP9938 or 9958. So an upgrade is indeed required. The CX5MII like the Spectravideo SVI 738 X'Press does have a 9938 MSX-2 videochip but only a MSX-1 BIOS/Basic ROM set and 64K videoram. But these machines are easy to upgrade by following the instruction
