Here's how I made it wor
After following a promising lead, I'm at a dead end again.
1. Downloaded and installed binary distribution for MySQL 3.23.38 as
recommended (originally tested with 3.23.37).
2. Installed mysqld-max-nt.exe service under Windows NT 4.0 SP 4.
3. perl script successfully executed:
$dbh = DB
