You can get a whole setup with a 2ghz celeron and 256 mb ram for 200
bucks these days. I got one at Frys at first, but since I'm doing an
HDTV machine, I had to build a custom 3ghz one.

Hello Jeff,
You will only be able to use remotes that use RC5 protocol with the built-in
IR receiver on the PVR card, as I understand it.
Fair enough, but as I understand it, the RC5 protocol is quite common,
if so, how can 7 out of 9 (including Hauppauge's own remote) not work?

Have you tried contacting the local company?
In my case, the local company (Adelphia) is supplying
incorrect information to zap2it, and I had to go so far as
to meet with one of the veeps of programming to find
out where the discrpancy lie. It was pretty neat, because
I found out that the pro

That didn't work. If I do:

and then start mythbackend and mythfrontend I get my TV back. I think
those commands load up the ivtv driver, so that tells me it isn't
getting loaded correctly at boot. Jarod's guide put a couple of lines

I'm close, but not there yet. I don't have remote control and I can't
change channels, not even from the keyboard. But I think I can fix
those.
But my biggest problem is trying to get sound to work for live TV. The
tests of the capture card are positive, I've got sound there, and I can

There is a serial port on my Mitsubishi SR-SD1 Dishnetwork satellite
dish. I see some scripts online like Sony.pl and RCA.pl that allow me to
change channels via the serial port. Does anyone know of any for
mitsubishi models? Can I use any of these scripts for my mitsubsihi
unit? I want my myth
