Just set up a new MythTV box. Very Happy except one thing.
I am getting audio out of the left channel ONLY for Live and recorded TV.
NO Right Channel sound.
Sound out with MythDVD, and MythMusic is fine, as is other non-Myth Apps.

I've had a relatively stable mythtv setup for a little over a year. I'm
not sure what happened recently, but now, when watching recordings or
live tv, I only get the left channel of audio. I have a 5.1 setup, and
I only hear sound out of the front-left, front-right, and center
speakers. Howe

line, but it doesn't work within MythTV. The error

Solved. Noticed I had libqt-mt.so.3.3.5, libqt-mt.so.3.3,
and libqt-mt.so.3 but NOT libqt-mt.so That last one
is the one the linker is looking for.
Stupid user error. Installed libqt3-mt-dev to fix.
Next problem is ld can't find -lXxf86vm. Sure enough,

I'm trying to determine if there's anyway to use an old PC (~200Mhz
with a suitable TV-out graphic card) and use it to be a frontend.
What I'm hoping for is actually to do all the video processing/decoding
on the master and then only stream it out the diskless front end->TV.

and then ran ldconfig. No improvement.

not that I leave mythtv open to the outside anyways, I use mod_proxy
from an external apache system to forward requests to and from the
myth backends web interface. I always have to get around via that one
