Keyframe points are written to the database during recording. And if you are

Certainly, bitrate is bitrate regardless of the resolution. 2Megabits at
480x480 is just as much data as 2Megabits at 720x480. The difference
is how much data per sampled pixel. Often lowering the resolutio

Sounds like you need to update the version of mvpmc you are running. Protocol
version was in Mythtv 0.18 which was 9 months ago, so whatever you are running
is coded for a myth version even older than that.

I thought it was the other way around. That with the 150's they placed
a chip "in front" of the encoder that the 250's didn't have. That way
drivers just had to talk to the front chip rather than directly to the

LiveTV "recordings" are treated pretty much like regular recordings

I have also had the problem of not running hdparm on the DVD drive where
it would fail at random points. Once I turned it on, it not only cut
the time to rip by 1/3, but I had no more failures.

I'm using a pcHDTV HD-3000 I don't know if it's software or
hardware, I think it just grabs the MPEG2 stream out of the air and
just dumps it to disk (hardware?). I'm pretty sure that it's a
problem with how the mythtranscode program reads the stream. I

I should be more clear, when I disable GL Sync usage in myth it clears up :)
Changes in nvidia-settings didn't affect the CPU usage

for archiving so I used switches that change the aspect ratio and crop

Just a friendly note of warning to all of the NVIDIA users out there
who have upgraded to use version 8174 of the NVIDIA driver that you could
be using a lot more CPU than with earlier driver versions.
It has been reported by a few people (myself included) that
