I believe that it is suggested that you make your swap partition at least twice as large as your amount of RAM for your system to run reasonably. I have 40MB of RAM and a swap of 50MB (couldn't allocate more at the time) and my linux system runs a little faster than my Win 98 on a good day.

You'll have to check what linux did, it might of changed your partitions to more like 150/16/150, this is the default settings for a workstation with what you had left. if it didn't you'll be good with 400/native 50/swap and the heck with extended. Thats a small drive for Windows and Linux.
