Well, I am no expert, but I can try to help you a bit. Firstly, this is what I do to get my Cable modem working. as root run netconf. Go to basic host information, then set eth0 to enabled, and select either bootp or dhcp, so it will get the ip info automatically. Also, then set the kernel
