Was there a fix for this? I'd appreciate it.
Yes, I used MandrakeUpdate.
Sure, run 32 bpp! :)
The Chips Technologies 65554 doesn't do 32bpp.
Since it's a laptop display panel, I'm limited to 800x600 as well.
Plus, it dithers colors when they're almost black. Thus if I have a
progression from white to black it's smooth until it gets dark. Then
it's a sudden
I believe I remember this bug.
And I'm not aware of a true fix, but see if this helps (what I was told on
another list when I asked this). Run X in another color depth, ie "startx
-- -bpp 16" if you normally use startx. I forget what to change to make
the default color depth be 16 all the
BTW, the color differences should be rather unnoticable between 16 and 24
bit color.

How can I run FBDev Server? I have another computer with a video card not
supported by XFree86 (Savage4 chipset), and it would be nice to run X on that
machine.. I ask because that server is not listed in Xconfigurator, and
running /usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_BDev doesn't work
El dom, 12 sep 1999,
I've reinstalled mandrake 6 several times, and I have noticed that sometimes
netscape looks normal, but other times with no apparent reason after I
reinstall mandrake the color dissapears that's odd, isn't it?
