Hi All,
I have a problem
Every now and then, my mouse pointer will go totally mental, flying round the
screen, opening up applications, minimizing windows, and generally doing it's
own thing.
Is this a problem with Linux or a hardware issue? I have a windows partition,
and not once

As root, in a text console mousedrake choose 'logitec mouseman+' I
think that should do what you want, maybe not.

Steve,
Are you saying I should try disabling the PNP in the BIOS? I'll try it and see how it
goes. Yes the mouse is plugged into a PS2 port. Thanks!

No, not necessarily, that depends on your windblows/bios relationship,
you may need it.
No, I'm saying mandrake does not need to look at your bios settings for
pnp instruction,
and the method I have described is the way to stop it doing it.

Hi
Does anyone know how to stop a jittery mouse in
KDE. It just moves to a corner and sticks there with a shaking action when I
move the mouse. It is a PS/2 Intellimouse.

Did you set it up properly in XF86Setup? Make sure you have the correct mouse set
there... sounds
to me like whatever you set it to isn't compatable with your mouse.

I am having problems with my PS2 mouse in Mandrake 7.0.
When ever there is a fair amount of disk activity the pointer will jump
accross the screen with the slightest movement. Any one experienced
this.
Also is there anyway to get my mouse wheel working?
Thanks

Well, I finally got it installed
(Linux-Mandrake 6.0). I had some trouble getting the
X Server up and running, but I finally made it over
that hurdle. I'm using the KDE environment with the
Mach64 accel. server, and the first time I went in the
mouse worked fine. I had to run the xf86config

Jose,
I forgot to mention, that when you change a mouse setting with
mouseconfig
you need to run Xconfigurator again to get the info into the Xfiles. I
found
this out when I converted from a serial mouse to a PS/2 mouse on one
machine.

Problem:
need to run 'mouseconfig --kickstart' everytime before I start 'startx'
to get my mouse to work.
When I run the normal 'mouseconfig' and select my mouse that never
seems to work. only the kickstart suboption. If I close kde and
'startx' again the mouse will not move.
