Thanks David for the directory listings and for taking the trouble to respond, but there is no sign of emacs in Linux Complete. I bought the 4-disk boxed set with a disk of upgrades and emacs is nowhere to be found. Xemacs consists of three files on the second disk in the RPMS2 directory:

The desktop edition is for desktops where people do not normally use programs intended primarily for the console. The download edition and the Power Pack both have full emacs, and you can obtain it by going to
