Thanks Colin and All I found an excellant tutorial and am now up and running Samba after a mere 40 hrs of frustration. Not bad for a hobby! Lots of self-inflicted problems, as usual. The problem with such a flexible system is there is little to protect me from my own ignorance. At one point
