I am not an expert in rebuilding rpms from src.rpms, but I have done it from
time to time. I am now trying to build rpms for firefox 1.0.2 using the src
rpm from cooker. However the process aborts after about 20 minutes with the
following message:
/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.77790: line 96: fg: no job

I wanted to see the code for the command used on the shell and the
code for the kernel (fork,and other system calls) but I did not found
them.
Anybody knows where can I found them on my system,
by the way I install the kernel source code from the CD's.

Source code , SRC.rpms are just that.
you have to create a directory
place package.src.rpmin it,
and in a terminl,
cd directory sources
rpm --rebuild package.src.rpm

src.rpms are the raw sources that binary rpms are built from. They are no use
to you unless you would like to recompile them on your box.

The main problems with usin vanilla source are you need to be
savvy enough to read the Makefile, figure out ahead of time where the
software will be installed and what it's fixin to do. Then either
edit/patch that file/source to fix it to be 'your distro' specific,
