If I remember correctly you have to run the installer with the -net
option, then run it again (without the -net option) for each user. I.e

Hi,
I just installed StarOffice into my /usr/local
directory. To do this, I needed to log on as root.
The installation seemed to go fine, but when I went to
run the program as a regular user, I get the following
error:
The following file could not be found:
/usr/local/office52/user/
I found the solution to this. I just ran /home/me/office52/setup
The SO wizard came up and repaired the installation in a snap!
Thanks for all the suggestions.

I can't remember how I cleared the message, but I do remember being extremely
aggravated. I saw the message one time when I was shutting everthing down,
the splash screen shutdown first then the message. I don't remember how I
got to the message to clear it though. Sorry.

So, if there is an error message behind the panel, how did you manage to
access it and close it down?

When I called up StarOffice 5.2 in KDE, it froze in the loading with the
title panel, which I could not get rid of without logging out. I
uninstallted SO5.2 and reinstalled it, but it is doing the same thing.
Anybody know what the deal is? Appreciate any help.

Hi All
I have a problem that is driving me mad.I tried installing StarOffice 5.2
whilst logged in as root. It works fine when logged in as root but will not
work from my user session. I tried altering the permissions but they will not
stick. I tried un-installing SO5.2 which it told me it had
Hello!
I tried using StarOffice 5.2, and it sounds like it is
rather buggy. At least the display is not good. The piece
of text around the cursor is partly hidden, backspace leaves
some black pixels (i.e. it does not eras prefectly) etc.
Is there a way to get it work fine?
Thanks
Hi there,
a few weeks back I installed Mandrake 8.0 (fresh, clean install). Some
days later I installed StarOffice 5.2 (from sun.com) and found it to be
unusable.
Here are the symptoms:
Any text I enter or any text in opened documents doesn't display
correctly. The letters themselves are overl

Hello,
I recently installed StarOffice 5.2 (SO) on my Linux-Mandrake 7.2 system, and
I must say it is really cool. The only problem I have with it are some
inconsistencies and cosmetic problems with its integration into KDE.
The folder entry for SO in the K menu does not have an icon to the le

I had the same problem but solved this way:
logged on as root

Selected Connect, I noticed that was on a different default nd not my
printer name.
Selevted my printer name that I installed under CUPS.
Selected test page in order to save the settings.

I installed Mandrake 7.2 and have the updates installed so I am running
the current version of KDE and CUPS etc.
I can print to my Epson Stylus Color 400 printer with KWord and the test
page when configuring a printer with DrakeConf works just fine.
I cant get StarOffice to print at all. It says
