I am not at my machine just now but I think that the hosts.allow and
hosts.deny are ok, I saw some help on one of the mandrakeusers pages
which explained what to put in these files.
I eventually gave up last night, but one thing I did try was to use
telnet -debug on a different port. For ex

Sorry for not responding to your mail Stephen, I did get it. I have already
uncommented out the line that you mention but I still get the same message. I am
beginning to think that the configuration is not as it should be. I am having a lot
of difficulty get around this problem. My Win
