Hey Yank! :)
Nah didn't manage to resolve it.
As I said, for some reason the OSD says "44.1kHz / 55.0 Hz".
I *know* it's not 55 Hz cos that'd be sooo flickery it'd drive me nuts!
Usually the OSD on the monitory also displays the RESOLUTION of the
desktop (ie 1152x864) but at the moment, it's only

Hi.
I'm trying to set up my XF86Config.
I've tried entering the data from a Modelines generator website, but
it doesn't seem to be using the entered info.
If I look at the OSD of the monitor at the moment it says:
44.1kHz / 55.0Hz
It's in 1152x864
The Horizontal Freq range: 30 - 70

Under versions of Mandrake/XFree before 9.2, I used to always set alternate
resolutions in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 so all my games could access them.
Usually, I would just stick in "800x600", "640x480", "640x400", and "320x200"
in the file where my default bootup settings were. If I do this now, he

I run 9.2 on a laptop and have reason to switch between different XF86Config-4

Hi again,
I have a question about entering monitor resolutions in "advanced" mode in
another Linux flavor and PPC hardware, but as far as I understand, the
principle should be one of the few universal elements in all Linux distros.

I am having troubles to setup my system with xf86config.
The reason why i ran xf86config was my monitor shutting down to standby

Upon being prompted to choose my video card from the list i didnt get the

Hi all,
This isn't exactly a problem, but a question. I recently moved to
Mandrake from Corel Linux. So far so good, but I'm still getting used to
an RPM based distro as opposed to Debian based. Corel used to screw up
once in a while on boot up, leaving me with no mouse, at which point I

Try /etc/X11R6/bin/xf86config (all lower case.)
John
I guess my problem is that I did a "workstation" install which doesn't
include X86 config utility.
