mdk 9.1 and reiserfs
I tried to compile gtk+ and failed, so I decided to remove the extracted
source files folder, but this appeared:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] install]# rm -rf gtk+-2.2.1/
rm: cannot remove
gtk+-2.2.1//docs/reference/gtk/xml/gtkscrolledwindow.xml: Permission
denied
rm: cannot remove
Put gtk+-2.2.1 in quotes and it'll work.

Does anyone know how to get a file back that has been deleted via "rm"?
Thanks,

If you know what was in the file: start typing.
If you can download it from somewhere: go and download.
None of the above: do you have a backup somewhere?
Not

Thanks for the advice. :) However, I did find something useful called
"recover" at
http://www.linuxave.net/~recover/
It asked me some questions and successfully recovered my file.
Gotta stop using rm -f so much!
Thanks again,
Scott

Installed 7.1 this weekend. The install went much
less smoothly than with 6.5 and 7.0. I have two hard
disks, Mandrake 7.1 was installed on the second hard
drive.
LILO would not install, complained about some error on
/dev/hda2. I then installed grub. It gets to the
stage1 prompt and hangs.

Why not send this about 200 times to the idiots that sent
those posts.
That way they will know how to get off the list for sure.
