Working on my winter list of things to do on a new to me, used 2003 with low mileage. Removed the gas tank and pumped out the fuel. Laying it on its side made for easy access to the tank gas filter. I can see how those flimsy gaskets can cause problems down the road. The filter was clean, but

For what it is worth. I could not agree with you more on the engine displacement overkill. Too much for its intended purpose. And such low gearing... Ahhh the price with rear hydraulic brakes and fuel injection. N.H. 2003 in mint conditon with 8k miles sold for 2450 from a HD dealer

A better question would be - why would you want to bother with disk brake rear? As most modern disk / disk brake setups can attest - the rear doesn't need the braking power the front does due to compression of the front suspension during slowing - You need braking power on the front. If you want
