I am coming a bit late to the conversation, but I have to say that I had
the same issue when I got my NH. Plenty of thread on the tires, but lots of
cracks. It did passed inspection (not really a good thing), but I was told
later by a mechanic that I should change them asap. I putted the BT0

Bridgestone BT23, I used the sizes listed in my service manual and hunted
for one that was appropriate to that rear tire. I'm running a 150/70 on my
'93 CB750 now, so I know it fits.

you ride. I'd go with the best you can afford.
