I've recently been debating splitting up my buckets, but not into ordinary subcategories, more by: 1) necessary vs discretionary 2) periodic (>1mo) vs monthly 3) fixed vs variable But I haven't yet decided. I've been tempted to go with #2 there, just so I know which buckets I expect to have

I make a bucket that needs an entry on my tax return. If expenses don't go on a tax return, I use the least number of buckets to keep track of where I spend money. Over the years, I also used to break out income and expenses into minute detail believing I was being smart and good. Now that

I would agree with Lance that there are a very limited number of features in an iPhone app that would provide 80% of the benefit to MoneyWell users. I'm one of those people using Notes to keep the amounts in my Bucket List (hahaha) with me, and it's painful, but necessary. Besides this synced list

Craig - Thanks for the tip. I just put all four one bucket (auto), with the idea of minimizing the number of buckets. This forced me to track the sub-buckets (cups?) external to MW. I will give a shot to allowing MW to handle everything as you propose. It will certainly cause an explosion to t
