If using Netware 5+, and all TCP/IP, just
connect to RAS as normal and (if necessary) fire up the NW Client. You may
need to add DNS/HOST entry for your Novell server depending on the timeout
settings for the login client.
If using IPX/SPX, make sure that both the

I don't know whether RegClean will do the trick, but there's a macro program
called AutoIt that I've used in the past for throny issues like these. IIRC,
it even comes with a premade script for changing DHCP settings.
It's better than having to learn WSH, I s'pose. =)

Do they work if you boot in VGA mode
Can you delete the files from the Recovery Console?
Else boot to a DOS disk if you're using FAT32 or sysinternal's R/W NTFS
driver.
One of the things I like to do (when I have the time) is install a fresh
copy of NT/2000 on a small partition, just in case I don't have R/W NTFS
support somewhere el
Have you tried increasing the size of the event logs and/or setting to

The easiest thing to do would be to make your own log file and see what the
CMD prompt is telling you. Odds are it'll be a helluva lot more helpful than
exit code (1) (which, I believe, just translates to failure).
Modify your batch file to output to a text file. eg.,

AFAIK,
there is no federal law (excepting Governmental, DoD contractors and Healthcare
industries) prohibiting or requiring notices that your email is being read. The
basic reasoning is that the PC, mail sevrer, bandwidth, etc are company-owned

I was part of a 150 PC RIS (Remote Installation Services) deployment, and
was pretty unhappy with the results. It tooks us about 1.5 hrs/PC to back up
the existing Win98 machines via a networked Ghost, and then deploy with PXE,
run thru the mini-setup and reconfigure personal settings.

Possible causes:
1. You're not using DNS at all, but broadcast resolution. "Some" servers
aren't on the same subnet.
2. The NT 4.0 DNS server doesn't have entries for the host name, and is
passing the requests to WINS. "Some" servers aren't listed in the WINS
database.
3. HOSTS/LMHOSTS resolution
Have you looked into doing differential/incremental backups? Say,a 2-tape
backup set on the 1st of the motnh, then diffs on the other days?
Otherwise, I'd say back up your Exchange store, the DHCP, WINS, DNS
databases and the data files and be prepared for a complete reinstall
(including programs)
