There's a western kingbird in the fields along Cove Hollow Farm Rd in East
Hampton. Seems to be hanging out with a flock of about a half dozen

N border garden's E section near Hong Kong Street Cart G09. Bird flew in as I
was showing them an image of the bird they most likely mentioned. They've been
seeing it for over a week.

My wife Betsy and I had some great birds in the Montauk area:
Adult male King Eider- seen very well from the Camp Hero overlook close to
the lighthouse.
American Pipit- parking lot Camp hero
50,000 scoters and eiders- Montauk Point
Snowy Owl- heavily barred, Hicks Island easily
The CACKLING GOOSE is currently on Alley Pond (by the LIE- Cross Island
interchange). If you're thinking of looking today, note that the lighting
gets worse as the afternoon progresses.

Doug Gochfeld just called to report a Lark Sparrow at Floyd Bennett field
in Brooklyn. The bird is currently being viewed on the berm to the east of
the cricket field. This field is just north of the aviator sports complex
along Flatbush Avenue.

I received an e-mail and photo from Ed Mertz of a CACKLING GOOSE he found at
Oakland Lake (northeast Queens) yesterday. I've posted the picture at my web

morning, but geese come and go, as you all know.
