Those are hard to fond screws and they are special to boot. There is a carb guy
down in Florida that sells all kinds of special carb screws. I have bought from
him before, but I do not recall his name or company name off the top of my
head. I can look around at home and see if I can come up with
apparent once you get all the crude, dirt and so forth off the bottm. Good

It seems I have heard the older trucks have a number stamped into the frame
rail. It seems it was forward of the front axlesomewhere, I think on the
passenger side. You will have to use a wire wheel to get all the rust off to
see it. I have not done this myself however, just have read about it on

Whoever chimes is going to want or need to know what kind of carbs you have
on the truck. If they are adjustble that would be the first things I would
try to do. Usually the main jet is fixed and is used for high speed. The
idle jet is usually adjustble. Some carbs it chages fuel to the system, som
3/4 tonyou will have to pull the axles out, then pull off each hub and
replace the seal on the hub. You may need new gaskets on the axles
afterwards too.

You could have the original rims widened. I had my '57 rims widened to 6"
front and 7" rear using the original centers so that the hubcaps would still
fit. I simply split the increase to the inside and outside and it worked
beautifully. I'd think any competent wheel shop could do this. It co

You need to check for a stuck float. If that seems good then look for a
warpped upper section to the Rochester. They were prone to this from many
times of over torqueing the four screws. I think I would change out the
float first, and the needle/seat combination. Rick
