Can someone please explain to me the thinking behind NOT using one word in
your ebay ad title stating what the item IS?
Example: 'NOS 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 88 98 Toronado' tells application,
but not what it IS.
So, a search for the item, say it is a steering wheel, will never show you

Wouldn't the simplest way to determine this be in finding a build sheet, and
wouldn't the 425 have to be a numbers matching engine? Seems this would be
the easiest way to prove it. Just a thought... Tim
Yenko and Harrell were not the only dealers to get COPO cars. Baldwin
Chevrolet, Joel Rosen, on Long Island had them, and also Berger Chevrolet in
Grand Rapid, MI sold a lot of them. There were also others, but don't
remember now.
A friend has a ;69 COPO Camaro he bought new at Berger. He sold

I think what we are saying is...if Olds did run low on the new 400 motor
to
put in the car for its early production...that maybe...just maybe they
did
put the 425 motors in some. I thinks thats all some are saying.
They didn't run out of 400Es, and I'm sure the CEO of Olds would fire his
I thought I read, a Qjet could out perform the old
tri-power, which is why they stopped building them.
Now a dual quad is another thing.
Nope. I have no idea as to the real reason the tri-power was offered as an
option for only 1966 and was avialable as a dealer parts package for 1967.

I said something similar a few days ago about build sheets and window

Remember the saying, Show me the money!?
All I'm saying is, Show me the option code!
It can't be built on the assembly line or added on by the dealer without an
option code.
I never meant that Yenko and Harrell were the only ones who got COPOs. Once
Yenko started the ball rolling, all of the Chevy dealers wanted in on the
action. It was money.
This was a bit removed from the original arguement to begin with. Once the
muscle car craze started, all car

What I ended up doing is probably totally wrong.
Please bring on the dangers of this installation.
There's nothing wrong with putting the crossmember under the frame. It's
okay. However, there is one very big item you need to look at. Puting the

Similar to what Milton just wrote I recall talking to
the guy at GV about installation and one of the
changes to make it fit I recall was turning the cross
member upside down for the Olds. He had mentioned a
modification may still be needed depending on your
exhaust pipe fit. He sent me a

You are right about needing to make the angle right.

I solved a couple problems like that by building

My 82 Cutlass has the trans mount sitting down
