Hi Rajiv. requestSendMessage is only available in the sandbox for now.
I hope to have an estimate on when you can expect it in www.orkut.com
soon.

As Rajiv says, you can use requestSendMessage to send messages/emails
to the user's friends.

Keep in mind that this message isn't sent out automatically; users
have to explicitly choose which friends receive the messa
Hi Vamsi. After the developer submits the app, it goes into an
approval queue. After the app is reviewed, the developer will receive
an email saying the application has been approved or a list of errors/
suggestions that need to be addressed before approval. After a bit of
back and forth, the appl
Hi Amit. Passing in a single-item ID array should work:
opensocial.requestSendMessage(['01495306580392390900'], message);
However, orkut is preventing developers from passing in an array of
IDs to prevent potential abuse -- basically, to make it harder for
malicious developers to spam users with
Nitin's right. Of course, you can always inspect the response by
firing up a tool like Firebug also. :)

Hi Gaurang. If you sign into orkut using your Yahoo! account, you were
correct to enter it in the sandbox access form. Since you were re-
directed to www.orkut.com, this means that the account you're signed
in as is not enabled for sandbox access. Are you sure you're signing
in with your Yahoo! ac
Are you trying to use your application to track sites that a user has
visited? At present, this isn't possible. Applications on orkut are
only "working" when a user is signed into orkut and directly
interacting with it.

Jevs: can you send me the code snippet that's failing?
AD: This is by design; orkut prevents developers from passing in an
array of IDs to prevent potential abuse. Please file a new issue in
the tracker with your justification/use cases if you want this design
choice reconsidered.

Hi Ken. I wouldn't count on any fixes right around the corner. I
recommend parsing by path from here on out since that should work
reliably across containers.

Bad, bad server. No donut for you.
Unfortunately, the orkut.com server has acted out in an unexpected
way. Hopefully, it will return to its helpful self if you try again in

Hi, I can´t add new applications to my profile on Sandbox.

I've checked on my database if is there some register of the user using his
opensocial_owner_id (using an MakeRequest() call). If not, "Wellcome to the
app", else, "Hi Owner! Your last logon was in...".
Is that?

Hi Rajiv,
Are you talking about installation scenario? The user installs/adds
the application and the user now views the newly added/installed
application the first time, and you wish to do some thing special
during this time, like may be register the user with your backend or
write to his/her act
I am also facing the same problem. I can't add applications now.

the orkut sandbox. I have tried different xml files, but I can't get
this to work even for a simple helloworld application. Can you please
