Hello Abhang,
The Google Gadget Editor doesn't support OpenSocial API calls right
now, so Preview mode will not work inside the editor. However, you
can still test the files that you edit by installing them into the
Orkut sandbox. After saving your file, click its name on the top

I think it is some browser issue now. I still get a opensocial not
defined when I link my xml file. And also when I click your link it
gives me open social not defined errror. May be I am the only one with
such condition.
Thanks

Hi all,
I publish by using my own server. I just paste the url into orkut and
let orkut access it and add as an application. Just point it straight
to your xml file.

How did you publish the application in sandbox.orkut.com. Like we get
the following code once a gadget is complete. So we need to paste just
the src part of it right?
Also let me know your id so that I can add you as a friend.

Hi,
I think there was a talk in another thread about GGE not supporting
opensocial 5.0. I am facing the same problem as you are, but I havent
got it working yet, which is frustrating. Did you try adding that
application in sandbox.orkut.com.
Thanks

Hello Andy,
I am using firefox. I think I didn't quite understand the way I was
supposed to test my application. So, currently, I am creating a XML on
GGE (Google Gdaget Editoir). I then save/publish it and get a URL,
which I paste in my sandbox.orkut.com It seems to work somewhat.

Hi Ashu,
You first seem to get the opensocial undefined but this disappeared
for me after a while. After that the ajax request returns an empty
response. But, if you try in FireFox everything should work, on IE7
these errors show themselves. Try setting your browser to show

Hey Andy,
I tried to copy the "Sample" Example into GGE but it just ends up
being blank. I am having a hard time finding directions. Would
appreciate if you can guide me a little.

I had the same problem initially with the opensocial object not being
available but it seemed to 'fix itself'. After a while of usage this
problem does not appear now with orkut. My problem beyond this, was in
not getting anything back from the server when requesting viewer
profile information. I
Yup, OpenSocial is undefined. Since I was using Firefox I had to check
the ErrorConsole. But in IE a pop up appears with that error.
This line in the example actually adds the necessay namespace
'opensocial' which somehow the page is not able to access. I don know

Hi, I think you may be having the same problem as me, if you turn on
javascript errors in your browser you will see the error thrown. I had
the problem whereby in the response no item (undefined result) was
returned from the responseData. Unfortunately I do not have any
answers but please can you
