how does that come off as fully functional ... this is opensource
software... no need for secrets this started out as an opensource
project, no hidden closed sourced secrets, guess i will be skipping

But the question is, how does one modify GRUB to boot off of a CompactFlash(TM)
or a USB stick?

James is right, look if you want to track pilot users just make them register.
Seriously...creating your own little secret society isn't going to achieve
anything.
Maybe I am getting the wrong idea as to what you are trying to achieve with the
whole password thing but anyone with but a basic
Could someone explain me why this URL contains an announcement for
BeleniX-0.2 but does not mention the release of both SchilliX-0.2 and

Hi Joey!
Thank you very much for the tip, I'm now building again opensolaris (before
doing bldenv ./opensolaris.sh in my opensolaris-dir/workspace). I'm yet
waiting to end task and reboot (a few hours in my 1.6GHz P4).
Thank you!

Hi,
http://opensolaris.org/os/about/roadmap/ suggests that Sun storage
drivers would be released in October. Which at this stage would require
a time machine to achieve since we are in November already.
Are there any updates to the release schedule ?

Cyril
Re, joey!!
I got the same error, man :-( I do the bldenv ./opensolaris.sh in my workspace
and rebuild again.
This is the mail_msg dropped in logs directory:

I don't mean to pile on here, but I completely disagree. Anyone

we explained already why we do pilot program first.
the rest is just yours
For a 100% free and open project, this seems pretty closed and secretive to me.
Since there's also about 2300 packages available in the repository, and more to
come, it seems to me that you don't actually need or want much help either,
because basically everything is already done. All you need

I'm going to have to disagree. A secret society is an exclusive club.
The GNU/Solaris (I wonder if this should be GNU/OpenSolaris since I
think Sun owns the trademark for Solaris - I dunno... Bonnie might know
better) folks have said that they will let *anyone* join who wants to.

Did you read the ReleaseNotes?
There is a big honkin' warning in there that there is a bug in the snoop
Makefile and that you need to make one change in order to build it.
This will be fixed for build 26.

Solaris Internals is no longer available as new (as far as I know). But you can
order it e. g. by Amazoon as second-hand book. It is 'only'

Solaris does, OpenSolaris doesn't yet - /usr/openwin/bin/sessreg
I'm only presuming it supports the UTX functions.
The Solaris version uses utmpx - the current Xorg 6.8.2 release does
not, but I checked our sessreg
But then again comparing say the OpenSolaris release in secrecy to this is a

codebase whereas Nexenta are all open source. I understand there are elements

I think this is worded to sooth existing Solaris customers who may be under the
impression that Sun is going the way of Linux with the development model.
Insofar as I can tell Nevada and OpenSolaris are the same tree and Solaris.next
will be built from the same tree.
