Wow... lots of replies here. I had already checked LD_LIBRARY_PATH. It was not set. I moved the .mozilla/ folder and firefox came right up. Thanks for the tips. It would have been really nice if Firefox had told me there was a problem with opening the files in there. I would have tried that
