There's a known problem in snv_130, fixed in snv_131:

Hello,
I'm thinking about consolidating my servers. Currently I have a bunch of
Slackware Linux servers, running a variety of software:

*Samba
*Chandler (Cosmo)
*Apache/PHP
*Postfix/Dovecot/Postgrey
*VirtualBox (currently hosting 5 guests)

Hello.
I wouldn't advice OpenSolaris for critical servers. You should pay for support
or use sometimes very unstable /dev releases. If you like zones + ZFS, you
could look at Linux configuration (e.g. LVM + OpenVZ or LVM+kvm), it would be
more familiar to you) or (if you want something new and

What's easiest is probably whatever you're used to, which is to say, once one is
used to something, most differences in what's easier vanish. There are a lot
of editors
like joe, pico, and the like that are easier than vi. But once you've used vi

enough, you really don't notice.
You don't have to use /dev - you can stick with
stable releases which is
default if you install OS 2009.06
Then you *can* buy a support for it from Sun.
Hello Robert,
That was my intention.
One of the reasons for going the OpenSolaris route is Sun VDI. I'm planning to

It's very unpleasant :(. We are trying to introduce some unified universal

I agree. So it is more or less a matter of benefits: Are there any benefits
from going the Zones route versus the VirtualBox route.
Or perhaps a

Hi all,
same here, went from 129 to 130, this pc starts XEN and uses opensolaris as
Dom0.
I can barely login at the console, most of the times it freezes while loading
the desktop.
I cannot start remote X sessions anymore, as soon as I try gdm enters into
maintenance.
I had the ICEAuthority

I'm not so sure. The problem is much more complex.
This is a problem of managing configuration files, updating system, installing
new software and testing. All this problems are connected.
- All services should be clustered if it is possible
- We need an ability to add new node to cluster fast
I had same issue in Virtual box this weekend. I tried

The cover is required to be on, in order to properly duct the cooling
airflow across the right parts.
Just be careful you don't burn up your server by taping down some switch
to trick the server into operating without a cover.

Hi,
You could use small magnets. There is chasis intrusion magentic sensor which
closes the circuit when you close the cover. you can just stick small magnet on
that.
too dangerous and try on your own risk.
