This fix allowed Apache to start ok for me, but now it seems that no PHP
content is served.
Anyone got any idea why, or how to fix it?

Please can someone take a look at the attached file which shows the output on
my machine of
zfs list -r -t filesystem,snapshot -o space rpool/export/home/matt
The USEDDS figure of ~2GB is what I would expect, and is the same figure
reported by the Disk Usage Analyzer. Where is the remaining
For quite a while (2 or 3 weeks) the package manager has been trying to install
a new version of virtualbox from /extra repo. The problem is that it keeps
getting to 37MB downloaded, and then the progress bar jumps back to 31MB, and
it gets stuck in this loop, going between 31 and 37MB.
Thanks for the explanation, I thought it must be something like that.

Lin,
As someone noted, the bug state is 'Need More Info'. Is there anything you
would like me to supply to help you track this down?
General question to anyone: why is there a bugster AND a bugzilla for
opensolaris? Do they serve different purposes?

Version 1.0.1 is old, and I have had problems running some things with it.
Specifically, Google Picasa. I do now have Picasa working with version 1.1.7 of
Wine which I found here in case it helps anyone:

The USB storage it is talking about must be a multi-card reader built in to the
system case, which is connected internally to the USB headers on the
motherboard, so I can't really test that.
If it's a known bug, do you know what release it will be fixed in so I know

Hi,
After enabling core dumps as you suggested and running
/usr/lib/hal/hald --daemon=no --verbose=yes
I got a core dump from hald. I have attached the output of the above command in
hal-log.txt. I have also attached the output of pflags and pstack on the core
file.
Does that help?
Thanks,
Please see the attached output from the top command. It reports 100% CPU, even
though the listed processes add up to nowhere near that.
Although the user and kernel values do change, they always add up to 100%.
What could be causing this, or is it lying?
Thanks,
Matt

prstat reports very similar numbers, although it doesn't tell you the total CPU
usage anywhere that I can tell, just per-process.
The thing that brought this to my attention in the first place was the gnome

I should have said first time round that I'm running OpenSolaris
I had a hal failure yesterday after updating from 114

renamed packages (in my case, SUNWdbus-bindings
became SUNWdbis-glib and a
number of other per-language packages).
How did you find out which packages needed installing though?

Hi,
After updating to snv_118 with package manager I got rid of the obsolete
network service fcoe_config from SMF as directed in the release notes. However,
on restarting I am not able to get as far as GDM loading. The reason is that
HAL is failing to start, giving an exit status 95.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for your response. I actually asked this same question in the desktop
forum to see if anyone there had ideas, and I got some. This same bug you
mention was also brought to my attention in that forum today. Please see the
following post, and my replies from today:
Hi,
I can play mp3 audio though Rhythmbox fine, the only problem is that it
momentarily pauses/skips when I do thinks like moving windows around,
alt-tabbing between windows, switching tabs in Firefox, clicking the mouse,
opening a new folder in nautilus. It's a bit irritating! What could be
