Well here in South Africa I have a 512KB Adsl line do it only gives me
about 256 KB and with a 3GB Cap which I pay Rand 1400 which is USD
195.00, and yeas it sucks

It's true what you say there, oddly enough some of the (simple) stuff is
impossible to find in a manual, your problem is a perfect example of

in passwd root hit enter, type in new root password twice and thats it,
just don't forget the new password, you could also do this in Yast.
