Have you looked at updating the apps that are dependent on Java 1.4?
I don't know all the versions, but I do see that you are running

Strange. It works perfectly on my system. Granted I'm no longer on
10.0... but the differences between 10.2 and a fully updated 10.0
aren't that big so as to cause you problems with Yahoo

but they produce failed dependency errors and refused to install.
I don't want to break anything else by using rpm --force.
If you just downloaded the Java RPM, you are likely missing the
various dependencies. Why not add
