identify the ltsp5 releases tarbal location and have that included in

apt just works. As synaptic (the graphical frontend) depends on apt and apt
(-beta) has changed libraries, synaptic does not work as desired with apt
(-beta).

as "payload" the filelist, the client can easily determine the filelist
belonging to a package. How this should work in details, I have not worked
out, but it might save a lot of bandwith.

a new
version of a package is released with the same filelist only the md5sum needs
to be transferred. For big packages the compression might be around 100% ;)

I reported a sudden hangup of my test system 2 days (tue 28/11 21:30) as well.
I did not have time to play further with the system. I'm not sure, but
perhaps the system
han we might have something in common. The system must be reboot
(reset) to get it back to live.

You should open them in konqueror side by side, using:
konqueror -> window menu (left next to help) -> split window vertically. This
shows the attachment next to eachother precisely. Making a good com

I would vote for repomd as it is metadata for an rpm repository. It is not
metadata for an rpm package.
