I have been following the discussion initiated by Kerry with interest and
from afar -- recently opening some space in Serbia. Anyhow, I have been
mulling over the notion of the credibility (or lack thereof) of Open Space.
On the one hand it amazes (and sometimes amuses) me that some folks talk

To me it appears to be a logical extension of the work of Kurt Lewin
(1940's - group type work), Reg Revins (1950's ? -action
learning/research), Experiential learning/ Group dynamics -
1960's, Encounter groups/T Groups - 1960's/1970's

potential number of participants could be 350.

meetings that did not use a bulletin board, but instead had participants
gather around the session-proposer and go off to the meeting place. But
those were small meetings, and I think that for an OS of the size you

heard of Harrison or OST. One is an annual camp for homeschooling
families held over the first week of what would be school. Everyone
shows up, offers a workshop or a session, picks a time and place and
