Doug-- The very first large-scale meeting I facilitated was held at the local high school, and it worked out very well. People know where it is, have a sense of community ownership, there is plenty of parking, furniture, spaces--the school was a gracious host. When I am having difficulty imagini

Chris-- Thanks! (I was trying to find my high school math formulae to see if each chair takes up 30 inches, do I multiply by pi R squared or pi D or what to get the diameter ) One idea an Inviter suggested to me tonight was the high school where a local girl graduated--she was the one from o

Winston, Michael, Ralph, Dennis and everyone else-- I feel as though I had been hugged by all of you! Such warm and wise advice. It will be difficult to do, but I will call this man and see if he wants to continue as an Inviter. He has an agenda different from mine (it's good to admit I have one

Doug, I've set up three concentric circles which held 380 people, in a ballroom probably the size Chris is describing. There was a picture window view of the morning's fresh snowfall, and I made the mistake of joking about the "law of two skis" -- so that we only had 125 people use the breakout sp

Dear Doug, thank the lord that you had this fellow at your meeting. If you are attached to a particular outcome (your influential person seems to be attached) or if it is already clear what should and should not happen the space is pretty much closed and it is not an open space. Trying to keep it o

Probably a ball room that can accommodate around 1000 people theatre style would be big enough for you to get everyone into the circle. The more square it is the better. I would estimate about somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 to 30 break out spaces, but you should be able to fit ten or more in
