Yes, I agree with the previous definitions (but can never remember them all) I think the essential thing to remember is that the pruritis/severe itching can also be a symptom of choleostasis and so liver involvement should be ruled out. Once liver involvement is ruled out it appears that PUPPS

My apologies to the list - PUPPs stands for Pruritic Urticarial Pustules and Papules of pregnancy. From what I understand it is a skin condition only and not something more sinister (my friend has had liver function and biochemistry to exclude cholestasis and all results have come back normal)

Thanks everyone for your replies. All my lady's liver function tests have come back normal, however she had a haemoglobin test that went from 112 in one week to 90 the next.  Don't know if this is related or not.  I have asked all the senior midwives and doctors about PUPPS and all have said
