Exploring this issue on openSUSE forums, it appears the problem is
related to a rather specific way of using MPlayer with VDPAU.
I tested on openSUSE-11.3 PCs (32-bit and 64-bit) with proprietary

Hi there!
I've just installed openSUSE 11.0 x86_64 and Packman's MPlayer and there

BTW does x86_64 package have built in support for win32 codecs? There is
no

Hi,
First off I just want to say thanks. I've used your packages for quite
awhile and really appreciate it.
I also wanted to let you know of an issue I encountered, which is that the
mplayer fonts are not configured. A solution can be found at the openSUSE

Hi there!
I noticed that if I want to open a movie with MPlayer from Nautilus,
only MPlayer (gmplayer) will be opened, but not the movie. But I've just
figured how to solve the problem, I've replaced the following line in
the /usr/share/applications/mplayer.desktop file:

OK, i have installed
MPlayer-1.0rc1try3-1.pm.1 (i uninstalled and then reinstalled). When i
run gmplayer as a user, i get this:
MPlayer 1.0rc1-4.1.0 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team
CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz (Family
OK, i got it working. I used gmplayer -vo x11 from the CL and
this played it just like it use to. The question is, how to make it always
use x11?

I am trying to find out if the rpm at packman site has xgl/compiz support
(my mplayer does not work when xgl is enabled):
rpm -qa MPlayer
MPlayer-1.0rc1try3-1.pm.1
Does mplayer rpm from packman site support xgl/compiz?
