Yep. The word Palm is used as a Trademark. It's like if you started a soft
drink company and called your drink Coke, or write a text editor and call it
Word. Same concept. This is mostly done to keep every company that makes a
handheld device from calling it a Palm.

Do you know if it's possible to get the PalmOS 4.0 source code from
anywhere? There only seem to be links for OS 3.0 and 3.5 available on
PalmOS.com.

Following the disassembled crt0.o, I should save/restore d4-d7 in
PilotMain().
In order to make these registers available to the application, it would
perhaps be a good idea to compile the startup code with -ffixed-d4 etc in
the distribution?

saving/restoring the data regs, but you're right, using the stack would be an
alternative.
