You all should try things before you proclaim them inaccessible. I've been
using a first generation Ipod since it came out. The hardest thing to use
is the Itunes software, but if you choose the Anapod software, it's as
accessible as Windows Explorer.

The Ipod isn't a CD player, so no you can't do that with CD's. Yes, look at
the descriptions of the different models and most if not all will be
compatible with Windows, which simply means they can be formatted for
Windows or the Mack.

It should be within whatever files or software that was installed with the

Hello,
When I record NLS tapes, I create .wav files at 16000 KHZ, 32 bit using
Goldwave 5.10. Then, to
compensate for the double speed recording, I change the sampling rate to 16 bit
so the
recordings will play at normal speed.
On a couple of occasions when creating mp3 files with

Many thanks to everyone who responded to my enquiry. Certainly a few things
to consider. Goldwave seems to have a lot of fans,, but as I said I already

Hi all,
can you split a stereo file in to two files? Right and left using gold wave.

Hi, Donald,
Are you sher you're telling it right? The bit rate has nothing to do with
the speed, the sampling rate does. The bit rate deals with resolution of
dynamics and such. Instead, is this what you do: you record the nls tape at
twice the normal speed and use a sampling rate of 32000, 16-bit
That's it, Jay. Please go by what I mean and not by what I say.
Actually, I have one player which will play NLS tapes at four times the actual
playback speed.
And if the tapes are well recorded with good high frequencies, I will sometimes
do them at 60
thousand Khz and then down sample with

There two possible problems assuming the speaker cables are good and
properly connected.
1: in volume controls, under properties, you may have checked the mute for
stereo mixer but not for mono. Second, in the audio settings for speaker
set up, you may have the wrong speaker choice checked.

You could try using the latest version of kazaa lite resurrection, I

well all of that makes sense, but remember, there are lots of sound cards

Hi Louie
I suppose once you have a stereo file opened, when you see both the left and
right waveform, it should be possible to copy the contents of either and
paste it into a new mono file.
Best wishes.

You will probably have to go to the manufacturor's web page and look for
drivers and software for your sound card.

PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines,
Hi Tom. I'm glad that you have that problem solved. If you like listening
to things in stereo, it's no fun having to listen in mono. It can be
frustrating if you have to be fishing around to find the right plug you
need.
