Hi Jo.
I think you should try Winamp. The free version wil let you rip at 8x
speed maximum and the default format is M4A. You can configure your rip
preferences in the preferences dialogue box, under media library, cd
ripping. www.winamp.com/player.

A friend of mine wants to burn some MP3 recordings to CD for distribution to a
local vi group. He wants to take a master Cd to a local voluntary organisation
to
run off copies on their duplicator, as there are near 100 CDs to distribute.
I'd like suggestions for software, preferably free, to do
Hi. Ok, if your friend is running XP then they will have windows Media
player. The easiest way to explain this is for him to use media player.
Nero will allow him to burn as many copies of the discs as he wants but that
means obtaining software and installing etc and using a programme he already
Hi all
Yes I know this subject has been discussed exhaustively on this list. But
there is something I have been wondering about.
Is there any kind of software around which would allow you to do the
following.
Set beginning and ending time for recording from an internet radio station
it's a bit tricky to use, but hidownload platinum might do that. It's a
strange interface and requires the mouse cursor a lot, there is also sdp
downloader which is easier to use but I think only works with .asf
streams, at least that's what I use it for. Those streams are archived
though so
Thanx man!

Walter, a good explanation. One small correction. Windows-e takes you to

Hi folks
Can someone please explain to me exactly how the bookmark function in MapLer
works?
I want to use it to listen to audio books but then I would need it to resume
where I stopped or to place bookmarks in files. I know that b is supposed
to place a bookmark in a file if I
Hi. Yup, technically that is correct but it is really samantics as when you
do a Windows/E command you land in the my computer folder so it really
amounts to the same thing. Walter, a good explanation. One small correction.

I have a great program called Replay AV which can do what you are desiring.
It is an excellent program for recording internet
radio and other things. It costs around $50 but it is a great investment.

Total Recorder will do this. It has a scheduler that will start and stop the
web transmision, it can even turn off your PC when the recording is done if
you prefer. And it's very accessible. However, it's not free. And, in Vista
or 7, unless you can use background recording, you will need to
Go to options on the tools menu. Go to the rip music tab. The first thing
you'll find is the change button. This allows you to change the location
where ripped music is placed. So go in there and make it whatever you want.

The standard version _does_ include the scheduler, but as far as I know, you
must already have whatever stream up-and-running! If this is incorrect,
someone please feel free to correct me!

I never got replay media catcher to work, if that's the replay that
you're referring to. Maybe I wasn't suing it right?
