You can think of your computer as just another audio source like a CD
Player, a radio tuner, a tape deck etc. Make your computer one of the
components of your hi-fi. Your computer probably has a mini stereo out
rather than two RCA outs.

Hi. Personally, I have never found pc speakers to be as warm sounding or as
robust as connecting my pc to my Hi Fi set and letting all the sounds or
music from my pc come out of the Hi FI speakers. Somehow, Pc speakers of
whatever make or model manage to sound very flat and unalive to me. Hi

Thanks for this detailed advice. However perhaps you made a typo. I don't have
stereo to mono, 100 percent, no faders.
The ones I do have are. My guess is you meant 6 or 7.

But you'd still get the hissing from the mixer itself, regardless of whether
that channel is on or not. It still usually makes some kind of noise. I'm a
perfectionist, and do archive work sometimes for personal use usually, and
so this is what I use to get the best sound, by muting the unused chann
o it comes out of both
speakers and then set the sound editor to record in mono. Thus avoiding the
extra hiss from the unwanted channel. Just my thoughts.

computer. There's a volume control on the front. Today, for no readily
explained reason, the volume control on these speakers just stopped
working, and I get

Ah, I think I know what you mean. The screw that holds the volume knob
onto the speaker? But if that were loose, the volume knob would just spin
and spin without stopping at the left and right, wouldn't it? Or am I
misunderstanding you?

Is there possible a small set-screw on the volume knob that you didn't feel?
That could be one cause of the problem.
