I've bought nine AF lenses in the past 5 years and they all came with the good rear lens cap. The one that bayonets on and has the lip type edge that protects the electrical contacts. Perhaps the good folks Alan has been buying from have been replacing the rear caps that come from Pentax with

The only lenses that I have purchased that did not have a rear cap were those included with the camera. If the lens was pulled out of a camera kit, it is unlikely that it would have a rear cap. Since the original caps cost money, a cheaper subsitute would make more sense for the dealer. Right?
