with the good rear lens cap. The one that bayonets on and has
the lip type edge that protects the electrical contacts.

I've seen favorable reviews of all the K-mount pancakes (Cosina/Vivitar,
Pentax, Ricoh, Chinon). They range from 40 to 45mm, f/2.5 to f/2.8. I say,
pancakes are hard to use; pick the one whose ergonomics seem least

I bought a month ago from Adorama a new FA 50 f1.4 lens, and I got
surprised to get it with the plastic cheapo push on back cap. I promply
replaced it with one of my ( backup) real FA back caps. hmmm, strange
is that I bought an FA 135mm f2.8 almost 2 years ago and had the real FA

The 40.5 thread is for the Digital Spotmeter, and, like Bob, I usually
use a step ring and an appropriately sized hood, and that allows easy
use of the more typical larger diameter filters over the meter. The
Pentax Spotmeter V uses a 46mm thread, and while I have a few 46mm
...although there's one cool thing i'd love to have in digital: uploading
pics on my home server via cellular uplink. if someone come up with this
setup, i may reconsider.

Xenotar - and it is cheaper. Yes, I have owned Rolleiflexes with both lenses. I have
to agree about the screen (and split-image rangefinder).
