like. The speed isn't as great as that of 2475 (which was in the 1000 ASA
range, 1600, iirc, with Acufine). 2485 is rated at about half that, or

a 4x5 is fine. you have to zoom the image anyway. working at 1:1 is the
minimum useful for much retouching work. i work at 2:1 most of the time when
i am retouching. that is why i am running my monitor at 2Kx1.5K resolution.

Right. This gives me an RGB image.
I thought you were talking about a way of opening the sensor data
directly, grayscale 16 bits per pixel. My idea was to use this, plus a
bayer pattern, to investigate purer ways to get B&W images from the
istD.
So far I've had limited success by opening the file

2. A*85 1.4
3. 1DmII

BTW, I was able to work directly on the PEF files on PS without having to
convert to PSD or TIFF. Tried a vew layers, a couple of auto adjustments,
converted to B&W ...

I just ordered the Minolta Scan Dual IV yesterday, it wasn't very
expensive and I have heard good things baout it.

Open PS Camera Raw and open RAW image
(I just clicked on the file)
Click on OK - File opens in PS window
Use File > Save As
Choose TIF or PSD from drop down menu
That's all there is to it. Works for Nikon NEF Files as well, and probably
others.
