The hard part is that the blossoms bounce around with
the slightest breeze, and the lens is just a few
inches away. I made about 50 exposures, and only a
handful are without motion blur.

I guess I'm a sick man... I actually enjoy the editing process. Just wish
I had more time to do so. Stupid day job gets in the way every
9esaturating to 80-90% is a trick I often use, especially when
shooting in low-light incandescent situations, you get a really nice
look to shots like that.

How about the 70-210, 4-5.6 SMC Pentax F ?
The biggest negative I come up with is the rotating end which makes using a
polarizing filter a bit of a challenge but I good lens IMO

I just shot my first wedding too, and I had the same experience with
the coordinator...she didn't leave me with any time to take posed
shots of the couple after the ceremony. TO make matters worse, her
mood lighting for dancing created a horrible backlight!
