I'll try to answer some of your questions.
First about the 600 and weather sealing:
It's a useful lens for isolating and portraying the animals. However
it's too heavy for wielding from a swaying deck, and it's a daunting
thing to haul onshore. So
The GPS looks nice.
The accompanying software does not support adding of geolocation data
to raw files. Only JPG is supported.
From a first glance, however, I think the data from the GPS can be
read by GeoSetter. That solves the raw file issue. :-)

I got messed up the first time i used my AF360. The On and Off switch
has another setting in between, for the wireless mode. I assumed i had
turned the flash on, but had set it to wireless not looking at the
switch position.
