Some time ago, I was shooting a time lapse with my K3 on a tripod. The
camera was working great, as it has since I got it last January.
I went to change the camera angle, and when I put it on live view to
tweak the framing, the top part

the shutter assembly itself. No repair possible and since the camera was
pretty old when it happened no replacement shutter assembly was

Another test run with extreme macro - this one is a dessicated crane fly
that who's remains I found on a windowsill this afternoon. This was

My much abused old K-7 sometimes develops a power fault and only takes
half frames. A few power cycles clears it. That's not going to fix
your problem though unfortunately. The only fix is likely to replace
the shutter. Sounds like yours went bad. That camera is totally under
