setting (*ist D, K10D, K20D, K-5, K-5II, K-5IIs, and now K-1).
Anyway, I think now I've got it licked.

As far as I can tell, the manual does not say how to turn off Auto ISO. I've
had no trouble like this in previous Pentax DSLRs that I've owned. Odd that in
a professional-grade camera, there is no easy way to turn off a feature

I'm surprised that the autofocus seems sluggish compared to my K-5II and
K-5IIs. I use central-point af on all my cameras.

Thanks, Stan. I searched "auto ISO" and "focus beep" in the pdf, but that

Every new Pentax camera has more features, larger menus, and more sub-menu
options, but the manual never gets any clearer. The biggest problem is the
index, which has an inscrutable approach to naming things that I have questions
about. I find Pentax's indices virtually useless for finding answe
I am expecting my K-1 to arrive later today. Can someone tell me if Photoshop
CS6 will recognize PEF files from the K-1? Or should I shoot in DNG format?
Thanks,

Check eBay. Last spring from eBay I got an AF 160 FC from a seller in Japan,
priced much lower than the price at B&H. There was no problem with the
transaction and it arrived quickly. The manual included English.

The 62 mm. filter size make me suspect that it is made by Tamron. Tamron
routinely uses that size, whereas Pentax has never (or never before) used that
diameter.
