Eric Hendrickson in Sharps Chapel(?), TN is good, a former Pentax
technician, and very reasonable. (He retired from Chicago.) He is
also known as 'Pentax Repair'.

This may be going in for repair. Does anyone know if Pentax will still
repair an FA 100/2.8 Macro?
Tom C.
If they won't someone has favorably mentioned a shop somewhere in New

Well I bent the aperture lever back
First thing to try in any of these errors that might be caused by a
"communication problem" between the lens and the camera is to clean
the contacts on both the body and the lens. A clean pencil eraser has
been recommended (and used successfully by me in the past). You should
not rub hard enough th

You can try bending it back into place yourself, or try sending it to
someone for repair. I've had good luck and bad luck with both options.

Tom,
Just bend it back 1 or 2 mm's then check again.
You're probably just hanging up a bit on the sides.

You don't say if you are using the F, FA, DA or DA WR version. My
FA100 will sometimes refuse to get a focus lock and sit at infinity.
I press in the mount lock button to release the AF drive and manually
focus to approximate focus and it then seems to work ok till the next
time it decides it can'
I run into operator error sometimes when I lock the focus
